Intergroup Relations and Social Justice Lab
Our research lab examines how people’s identities and experiences as group members affect their relations with members of other social groups. Much of our work focuses on relations between groups that differ in status on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, and/or national origin, and we consider how legacies of inequality and conflict shape group members’ views of each other and the societies in which they live, as well as their motivations for social change. We also seek to identify and test strategies that can foster improved relations between groups while also achieving ever-greater levels of social equality and justice.
Our lab includes both undergraduate and graduate members, as well as international researchers from all over the world. Aside from academic publications, we also engage in outreach by sharing research insights with practitioners, policymakers, and a wide range of organizations.
